Mr Motivator Had It Right

There was a guy who used to be on breakfast TV way back in the 80s. His name was Mr Motivator. His job – to get people up off their backsides exercising before they hit the road to work each morning. He was a big hit for a while – and there’s one good reason for that: he lived up to his name.

But in essence that is what the role of any Personal Trainer London-way is – to get people looking to lose weight or generally improve their fitness motivated.

As anyone who has tried to do it themselves, getting out there onto the streets jogging or into the gym and onto those treadmills is the hardest part. It does take an awful lot of motivating. The thing is, it’s even more difficult when you’re relying on your own inner voice to inspire you.

And that is the key word in many respects – inspiration. Because that is what you will find the best personal trainers are able to do – say the right things to get you working at those weights or going through those stretch exercises.

Having a mentor, a coach, someone to coax you on with enthusiasm and encouragement is as important as going through the drills or following the healthy diet you have been proscribed. Being able to do that is just as important as having the knowledge about what exercises do what to your body. It is a key facet of any personal trainer. Which is why they are more popular today than since the time of Mr Motivator.

What you don’t get is regimented sergeant-major type yelling in your ear – that is not the personal trainer way. The idea is that training should actually be pleasurable, not punishing. Yes, you will work hard, but it won’t feel like you have been punished. Instead you will feel satisfied and even come away with a sense of achievement.

It’s a fact that every time someone does any exercise they will always feel good afterwards. It’s because the body feels stimulated and important natural chemicals are released during the exercise that gives us a sense of well-being.

The body needs exercise that is the bottom line.

So if you have a bottom that need flattening out, you know who to call. No not Mr Motivator, he may be retired by now.

Just contact your nearest personal trainer for all the fitness motivation you will ever need.
